Contemporary Persian poetry, especially in the form of ghazals, has witnessed fundamental changes in language and imagery; one of the prominent figures of this change is Hossein Manzavi, who, by utilizing his rhetorical and artistic capacities, has been able to move the language of poetry from a traditional form to a multilayered and innovative expression. The context of this research is to examine the manner of linguistic and visual highlighting in Manzavi's poems; the aim of the research is to analyze in detail the methods through which the poet has achieved the creation of meaning, the transmission of emotion, and aestheticsThe data were selected from Manzavi's romantic and social ghazals and were analyzed based on the linguistic theories of highlighting and poetic imagery (imaginary, real, metaphorical, symbolic). The necessity of this research stems from the fact that despite Manzovi’s fame in ghazal writing, few studies have systematically examined the salient structures in his poetry; while understanding these structures can help to gain a deeper understanding of the language of contemporary poetry and its expressive capacities. The main question of the research is: How does Hossein Manzovi use linguistic and visual salients to create emotional, philosophical, and social experiences in his poetry? The research findings show that by breaking syntactic rules, selecting unexpected words, removing or adding linguistic elements, and creating multilayered images, Manzovi has been able to transform poetry into a medium for expressing psychological and ontological complexities.
